Property, Plant, and Equipment. PP&E.

Companies like Boeing, Target, and Starbucks use assets of a durable nature. Such assets are called property, plant, and equipment. Other terms commonly used are plant assets and fixed assets. We use these terms interchangeably. Property, plant, and equipment include land, building structures (offices, factories, warehouses), and equipment (machinery, computers, vehicles, furniture, tools).

The major characteristics of property, plant, and equipment are as follows.

1. They are acquired for use in operations and not for resale.
2. They are long-term in nature and usually depreciated.
3. They possess physical substance.

الشركات مثل Boeing لصناعة الطائرات وغيرها تستخدم اصول دائمة (عمرها طويل) يطلق عليها:
ثلاثة مصطلحات هي:

هي:

1.      يستحوذ عليها (يتم الحصول عليها) للاستخدام بالنشاط التشغيلي ، وليس لاعادة بيعها.

2.      عمرها طويل ، وتخضع للاندثار.

3.      لها طبيعة ملموسة
